Can Yaman Sparks a Sensation on Rai1 with Sandokan
Turkish actor Can Yaman is once again at the center of attention in Italy thanks to his new series Sandokan, currently airing on Rai1 and already generating strong interest from both viewers and the media.
Before returning to Italy for the planned filming of Sandokan Season 2, Yaman is currently in Spain, where he is working on a brand-new series titled The Butterfly Labyrinth (Il Labirinto delle Farfalle) for Canale 5.

🎬 From Mediaset Success to a Legendary Role
Produced by Secuoya Studios, The Butterfly Labyrinth follows a string of successful projects Can Yaman has completed for Mediaset channels in both Turkey and Italy, including the popular series Viola come il Mare.
However, no previous project has captured public attention quite like Sandokan, which brings back to life the legendary hero from Emilio Salgari’s adventure novels, also known as The Tiger of Malaysia.
🐅 The Butterfly Labyrinth: An 8-Episode Thriller
The Butterfly Labyrinth is an eight-episode thriller blending action, mystery, and a powerful romantic storyline. Filming is currently underway in Spain, and Yaman’s intense schedule was the reason he recently pre-registered his appearance on the popular Italian show Domenica In.
Can Yaman is expected to return to Italy in 2026, when production on Sandokan Season 2 is scheduled to begin.
🕵️ Storyline of The Butterfly Labyrinth
In the new series, Can Yaman portrays Kaplan—a name that means Tiger in Turkish—a highly skilled secret agent with a flawless professional record. After being betrayed, Kaplan is framed for a multimillion-euro robbery against the state.
Overnight, he goes from a respected government official to the most wanted man in Spain, forced into a race against time to prove his innocence and uncover the real mastermind behind the crime.
Beyond high-octane action, the series explores a more intimate dimension: a fragile love story that ultimately becomes Kaplan’s only possible salvation.
