Turkish Series Hashiyet (Dignity) Postponed as Rising Production Costs Force Project Cancellations

Turkish Series Hashiyet (Dignity) Delayed Amid Rising Production Costs

New and concerning developments have emerged from the Turkish television industry as several projects face delays and cancellations due to increasing production expenses.

The series Hashiyet (Dignity) — announced as a modern adaptation of the iconic drama Yaprak Dökümü (When the Leaves Fall) — has officially been postponed until September, aligning with the start of the new television season.

According to reports, the decision was made to allow the production team more time for preparation and, more importantly, to address the significant rise in filming and production costs.

Unofficial sources also suggest that actor Berker Güven had been in talks for a role in the series. However, the future of the project will become clearer only after the preparation phase resumes and the final budget is confirmed.

📉 Growing List of Canceled Projects

At the same time, the list of canceled Turkish series continues to grow. Following the cancellation of Serseri Aşıklar (NGM) and Hayatın Benim (O3 Medya), production company Gold Film has decided to cancel the series Ülker Abla.

The primary reasons cited for this decision are rising production costs and the limited budget of Now TV, where the series was originally scheduled to air.

These developments highlight the increasing financial challenges facing the Turkish television industry. As costs continue to climb, the number of planned but unrealized projects grows from season to season, signaling a period of uncertainty for producers, broadcasters, and viewers alike.
